The Fall
A vertical settlement built around an impossible abyss.

In developmentPC on Steam
Take Gerald to the Gate. That is all.
The Steam page is not open yet.
The simple task
Take Gerald to the Gate. That is all.
That does not sound difficult.
I know.
Gerald is a sheep. He is heavy, he panics, and he is a physics object, which means he can be picked up, carried, thrown, dropped and stolen. The Gate is 226 metres away and slightly uphill. Nothing else about this is simple.
Then he gets bored
I am bored.
A wheel of light turns in the sky, shows you the real candidates, and stops. You get five and a half seconds of warning. Then the world changes.
Event names and lines are taken from the build and the design documents. The full library is larger and still growing.
Magnet only knows what metal is. Metal rain only knows how to fall. Nobody wrote the part where they meet. That part is yours.
Work together, probably
Trust is such an efficient resource.
Two players carry Gerald faster than one. The same two hands can also let go. Every verb in the game works on your friends, and that is the entire design.
Hold a player or an object. Hardest thing in the game to get right.
Two people carrying Gerald beat one person carrying Gerald.
The cheap comedy verb. Readable, and readable coming.
Objects. Also people. Gerald screams at a different pitch per launch speed.
Downed players get back up if somebody bothers.
Pushing a friend off a ledge for fun is worth nothing. It should be a joke, not a strategy.

He is watching
I can see you.
He comments. He remembers who dropped Gerald. He may lie about his intentions, about the fiction and about the other players. He may never lie about the rules.
This is going suspiciously well.
Every match tells a different story
Surely one of you is competent.
A wheel of light in the sky picks the next event in front of everyone. The wheel does not lie.
A private offer only you can see. "Throw Pedro off something. +450." Refuse and nothing happens. Accept and everyone finds out eventually.
"Congratulations." A pause. "Unfortunately, there is not room for all of you."
Everyone leaves with a title. Not everyone leaves with dignity.
The roulette and the awards are in the build today. Deals and the final ordeal are designed and not yet playable.
The cast
Eight this time.
God takes his contestants from unrelated realities and never checks whether they go together. Aliens, skeletons, robots, monsters and one banana, in the same yard, on the same errand.

One archetype is playable in the current build. The rest are in production.
Not playable. Cargo.
A sheep with opinions. He goes limp when two people carry him and rigid when one does. He bonds with whoever last saved him. He has reached the Gate by himself while everyone else was fighting.
The Divine Dump
I throw away what I got tired of looking at.
A stone yard floating above the clouds, patched with planks, castle scrap, crates and discarded machines, with more landfills on the horizon and God in the sky above all of it. It climbs in steps toward the only place that still amuses him.

A vertical settlement built around an impossible abyss.

You are very small. Cutlery is architecture. He is eating.
Planned. Not built yet.
Divine Awards
That was embarrassing.
Every match ends with God handing out titles. Everybody gets one. They are funny first and accurate second, and they are built to be screenshotted.
Stole Gerald 6 times
God's note: I saw. Everyone saw.
4 rescues
God's note: How disappointing. I liked it.
71s with Gerald in your arms
God's note: He did not enjoy it. But he stayed.
Dropped Gerald 9 times
God's note: He has a name, you know.
Matched the background
God's note: Pretty. Motionless. Useless.
Award text is translated from the strings in the build.
Media
Look at you run. Adorable.
